Scrubber Separator Usage
A scrubber separator is actually a two-phase separator with a small liquid loading. This kind of separator is used to recover liquid from the production separator gas outlet. A scrubber is also use to catch liquids which resulted from condensation effect.
Scrubber separator is typically used to protect equipment from free liquid. A compressor may damage or even destroyed if it compresses wet gas. This separator also uses to increase the efficiency on upstream process such as gas dehydration process. Gas dehydration equipment would loose its efficiency if contaminated with liquid hydrocarbons. Scrubber separators are commonly installed on the upstream of a flare or vent outlet.
