Flame Arrestor Schematic and Installation
The tube inside flame arrestor will prevent a vent flame traveling back into the tank as we can see in the figure above. The common problem with flame arrestor is they can be plugged easily with paraffin, so it must be installed in a position where inspection and maintenance can be done. To prevent the problem if they do get plugged, a secondary relieving device must be installed.
