Phase Separator on Oil and Gas Facilities
Fluids outputted by the wellhead are made of form many different compounds of hydrocarbon and each compound has its own physical characteristic. The fluids flow from high temperature and high pressure reservoir surface facilities so its temperature and pressure will decrease. Gases from the well stream or evolved in liquid will flow in high speed and carries liquid droplets while the liquid carries gas bubbles.
The basic operation of oil and gas production processing is to separate these phase. Separator vessel is the initial processing device in any facility so it must be designed properly to prevent the “bottleneck” of the entire facility.
Two phase separator is a separator which separate gas form liquid stream and we name it three phase separator if it also separate the liquid into crude oil and water.
